Library Furniture International (LFI) is a full service firm specializing in the sale and service of library furnishings. We help libraries meet the rapidly changing sociological and technological growth in their community through design and product. LFI provides product options, quotes and installation services to those that have specific needs. The goal is to deliver unconditional satisfaction to our library clients. Whether your needs call for the purchase of one section of shelving or an entire library of furnishings LFI will have the solution that works for you!

Matt has a proficient focus and dedication to his work and ensures that the needs of LFI’s clients are met and well satisfied. His ability to juggle project needs and keep schedules tight make operations flow smoothly and efficiently. Matt keeps plenty busy spending time with his family. He enjoys activities around his community and the nearly year-round coaching and volunteering with his kids’ sports teams.
dustin walker-woods/ vice president of sales
Our Iowa native, Dustin, is a graduate of Iowa State University and has been working in a customer service or sales role for 15 years. Dustin has become a real asset to our team and his library and school customers. A busy dad, when at leisure he enjoys vacations with his wife and sons, sporting events (Go Vikings and Cubs!), and the antics of the dog (Wilson) and cat (Nellie).

With years of experience in sales and a degree in Professional Communications, Meghann works hard to ensure clients are well informed of the products and services LFI has to offer. She works hard in providing front end ideas that result in the best solutions for client needs.The importance of thoughtful design, the challenges of project management, and the strategy behind both.
henry fairbanks / sales manager
Henry began working with LFI during his breaks from college as a member of our installation team. Then after graduating from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, he moved back to the Chicago area to work on our sales support team. Knowing the business from both the installation and sales support perspective was a perfect transition to his role as a sales manager for Wisconsin library customers.

- 2000 - Scott Fairbanks introduces LFI to the Illinois library market at ILA in Peoria.
- 2001 - Skokie Public Library chooses LFI to partner with them on their $20 million, 22 month renovation.

2003 - Oak Park Public Library selects LFI to provide shelving and display items for their new library, and in the introduction of our most popular shelving solution, the picture book browsing bin begins.
2004 - LFI moves into a 2500 square foot office warehouse in Northbrook, IL.
2006 - Projects in Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan expands LFI into neighboring states.
2007 - LFI hires Matt Kanzer to lead operations and installation services.
2009 - Tempe Public Library contracts with LFI for shelving and service desks in an 18-month 3 phase project.
2011 - LFI staff grows to 5 employees. LFI moves operations to a 2200 square foot office / showroom / warehouse.
2012 - A new website profiles projects from LFI's first 10 years in business.
2014 - The showroom expands to 1500 square feet and welcomes many architects, designers, and library clients to visit and select products best suited for their new project goals.
2015 - LFI is selected to provide shelving and furniture for three public library projects in Virginia. One of them, Varina Library, received the ALA / AIA library building award.
2016 - LFI expands the office / showroom / warehouse space to 11,500 square feet.
2017 - Jones Library Sales, with 35-year library sales veteran Ken Jones and 15-year installation manager Jason Platt, joins the LFI team. LFI "West" is created with coverage for Iowa, Nebraska and the Dakotas.
2018 - Lake Villa Public Library selects LFI to provide $1.2 million furnishing needs for their new library using the TIPS contract.
2019 - LFI promotes Matter Kanzer to Vice President.
2020 - LFI celebrates 20 years of service to the library market.
